Appearance:
Anise is 14, but still very young looking for her age. This is probably partly of her own volition, in an attempt to be as cute and appealing as possible. However, like most of her actions, her appearance is a paradox—despite looking young, she adamantly declares she is not a kid and at several points says that she wants to be 'sexy'.

Anise normally dresses in her Oracle Knight uniform: a one piece, pink dress with a short skirt. The dress is open at the shoulders and the top part is covered by her white and purple tabard. She also wears white stockings and gloves. She keeps her hair in pigtails, tied with tan ribbons.

The most important part of her attire, however, is the stuffed doll she wears on her back. Tokunaga, as she named it, is part weapon and part imaginary friend. Anise finds him to be extremely cute and does not tolerate people insulting him.

Personality:

In the tradition of many of the game's characters, Anise is named after a plant. 'Anise' is a kind of sweet, aromatic flowering plant that is sometimes used as an ingredient in cooking. However, there is another kind of plant called 'star anise', which while being a different species, looks almost indistinguishable from regular anise once dried. Star anise, though, is extremely poisonous and can cause death if ingested. Like the plant for which she's named, Anise can be exceedingly sweet or dangerous and vindictive depending on the mood she's in. She's generally friendly-- very friendly if you're a handsome man with a fat wallet. However, if you're not a well-off male, she won't hesitate to tell you when she's annoyed with you. She has a somewhat foul mouth for a little girl, but only swears when out of earshot of anyone she greatly admires (or men she's trying to win over.)

Anise is very mischievous and loves to tease and play somewhat mean-spirited tricks, her favorite targets being her close friends. She generally prefers the company of adults over children her age, though this is partially a product of her growing up in an environment without many other children to interact with.

Abilities:
Anise was trained from a young age as an Oracle Knight, her primary job for most of the game being to protect Fon Master Ion. This job requires that she be able to fight in close combat, but her small size makes her unsuited for this under normal conditions. However, she solved this problem through the use of Tokunaga. The doll is infused with fontech that gives it the unique property of being able to grow in size in response to Anise's fonic signature. Using this, Anise can control Tokunaga in battle, riding on his back and pummeling her enemies with his fists.

Outside of Tokunaga, Anise is primarily a fonist (Abyss's version of a mage.) She can use the first through sixth fonons but displays an aptitude for attack artes of the first fonon (darkness.) Aside from her attack artes, she has a number of support artes, as well as strike artes performed by Tokunaga. She uses a staff to aid in her casting, though whether this is necessary or just a habit of hers is unknown.
